Late 19th century
Charles JAMAR (carpenter and owner of a sawmill in Verdun, France) leaves the Dison region to settle in Namur and found a reinforced concrete and stability company
Execution of military engineering works
Laying of railway tracks, reinforced concrete for the railways and the private sector, concrete exterior works are the main activities
1918
Charles (a concrete engineer from the Paris Hennebick school) and Gaston JAMAR take over the business on the death of their father. Development of reinforced concrete activities
1925
start of concrete block production and masonry work
1965
The firm Ch. JAMAR et Fils sprl is established. Charles and Georges JAMAR, Gaston JAMAR's sons, take over the reins and continue the activities of stability and masonry. Under their impetus, the restoration, transformation and stone cutting/masonry projects expand
1989
Michel JAMAR, Charles' son, joins the firm and takes over the succession. Development of the activities thanks to projects mainly in general contracting and no longer only in stability and restoration of structural work
1998
Renovation and extension of the historical headquarters on Boulevard d'Herbatte in Namur

1999
Implementation of the ISO 9001 (formerly 9002) quality system and certification without interruption since
2002
Frédéric JAMAR joins the firm to take over the reins. Larger, more luxurious sites outside Namur complete the historical demand
2007
Creation of the JAMAR WOODS & Maintenance division. Initially focused mainly on acoustic insulation work, it soon began to carry out all types of general joinery work to measure for both new build and restoration projects (parquet flooring, staircases, glazed units, cladding, exposed frameworks, ....)
In 2020, independently of the General Contractor activities, it manages preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for numerous commercial clients, multiple owners, joint property associations and institutions

JAMAR moves into its new facilities in the Parc Créalys in the province of Namur at Les Isnes (Gembloux)
2011
entry to the cluster Cap 2020 (companies and actors in the construction sector that adopt the European 2020 targets for a massive reduction in energy consumption) www.cap2020.be
2016
Creation of the JAMAR Roofing division: the integration of a team of roofers allows the design of complex roofs and their execution to be handled in-house
In 2020, our craftsmen deal with requests for repairs 7/7 but also the renovation of remarkable roofs (castles, churches, theatres, listed buildings...) and the realization of new roofs for high standing villas
